Changes at IRD- Payments and Penalties
IRD has recently introduced a new computerissed taxpayer account system to better manage and monitor taxpayer’s payment obligations.
You will notice a number of key changes:
- IRD receipts will now be computer generated
- Some taxpayers who did not previously have to register with IRD ( stamp duty and withholding tax payers) will now have to register and obtain a Taxpayer Identification Number
- Late Filing Penalties and Late Payment Penalties will now be imposed automatically when a taxpayer fails to meet their obligations.
